Iranian film A Separation won an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. This is from the ‘making of’, during which Nader gives his old father who is suffering from Alzheimer’s a bath. The actor playing Nader (Peyman Moadi) broke down during the filming of the scene, and he was soon followed by the camera-man who couldn’t keep filming under intense emotion. The director and writer Asghar Farhadi halted filming to comfort Peyman who stood over his onscreen father, sobbing into his back. Really shows the reality of Alzheimer’s and how painful it is to watch those closest to us slowly fading away.
